In India, one of the most popular shows is Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The show has been around for two decades and has a lot of loyal fans. It’s time for me to have my say on the show.

The thing about this show is that it is so Indian, so Punjabi, and so true-to-life. It doesn’t shy away from the problems that plague society or from addressing them in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is the most popular Indian TV show. It is an Indian sitcom that airs on SAB TV, and it can be likened to the American hit show, Everybody Loves Raymond. The show has been airing for over 20 years, since 16th December 1995. The show features a common man named Taarak Mehta who is living in a middle-class society and striving to understand the various intricacies of life. The show’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent years because it offers wholesome entertainment with comedy and drama. Here are some reasons why this TV show is so beloved by many Indians.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a popular Indian sitcom, which airs on SAB TV. It has been on air since 2007 and is one of the most watched shows in India. The show features a lot of comedy and satire and often revolves around social issues.

So if you’re looking for a good laugh, this show might be the one for you! What are some things that make this show so hilarious? Here are some of the funniest moments from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

The residents of a housing society help each other find solutions when they face common, real-life challenges and get involved in sticky situations.

What is Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a 30-episode long animated comedy-drama which debuted on July 12, 2007. It started airing on Doordarshan but the show went off-air on September 14, 2015.

Currently, it is broadcasted on a number of cable channels and streaming sites such as Sony Pal, Rishtey, and HOOQ. The show is written and created by Daya Shankar Bajewala.

Doordarshan re-broadcasted the show every Sunday night at 9:30 PM. ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Shows Us That One Should Never Give Up The Show’s story-line The show revolves around the lives of Taarak Mehta (Sardar Sohrab Modi), his wife, daughter and friend, Goher Daddy (Gokuldhaaj Banerji).

It portrays the shared memories, anguish and happiness of three friends who live in a society of builders.

Whose idea was the show?

Taarak Mehta’s daughter, Anita Thakkar and Sonali Raut had a dream to bring the world of Dilip Kumar and Dilip Kumar ka Jhansi Ki Rani alive on a TV show. However, when they went for casting, they realised that people needed a piece of fiction to be entertained.

So, they took the journey of finding a fictional drama and writing the story. Why then should you watch Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah? It’s a chat show, where a few characters live in a housing society and tackle many challenges faced by common people.

The residents of a housing society help each other find solutions when they face common, real-life challenges and get involved in sticky situations.

Who are the main characters?

The story of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah revolves around the protagonist, Dr Hathi, who deals with all kinds of diseases like dengue, malaria, diarrhoea, chikungunya, etc. However, he hates chikungunya and makes sure he does not touch anyone who is suffering from this dreaded disease.

A nice mix of humour and human drama is embedded in the plot, which is an exact copy of the classic Taarak Mehta, which was aired for years in the past. However, the humour is far superior to the one portrayed in Taarak Mehta.

Also, the new series looks much more creative than the previous one. The characters are written beautifully and each one of them have their own unique characteristics.

What are some of the best scenes on the show?

Shailesh Upadhyay: We are fond of S.R.Puram. It was an unfortunate incident that happened there but the people in the society helped each other out when they got involved in the situation. We like doing more of such things.

Humorously, the police recently brought Humpty Dumpty to the society. We felt very bad for the character and the residents. It is more of the same, good deeds that are created on the show. Aadar Jain: A fun clip that is played often in the show, it is of Salman Khan’s Baazigar.

When a character played by Ashok Saraf tries to run away, he refuses to let go of Humpty Dumpty’s leg. The residents of the society and the neighbours come to the rescue. It was such a funny sequence. Sharda Khan: The Chacha Vidhayak in the show is in love with the park.

This week’s episode begins with the typical sequence – a character goes into panic mode after seeing what looks like a cockroach crawling on their face. This scene feels unnecessary as it happens just once, in the opening scene. Nothing happens after this but we are left wondering what will happen next.

We soon find out that it is indeed a cockroach which is an apt metaphor for the weird episodes this week. Piyush struggles with himself to talk to Bejoy, the guy he has been seeing since he was in college. His stammering is apparent and even the attempts by Rajveer (Manpreet Ghuggi) to help him out, don’t succeed.

Funny Moments

The special guest who attended the show was none other than Shah Rukh Khan. Of course, the show had a quiz session which involved a lot of Shri Raj Kathuria’s mind-boggling questions. Comedy & Telly The show kept our smile wide with humour.

The sarcastic use of language in the form of sarcasm made this show the laugh riot of the day. Dance & Dhamal The amusing dance and video session after one of the celebrity quizzes made us laugh out loud. And the dhamal sequence at the end of the quiz session proved that this show is the best.

Big Twist The host Mrunal Thakur revealed that Taarak Mehta’s wife passed away a year back in a car accident and that is why the family members are eating something specific when they think of him.

Sad Moments

Why live when we can help? This is the mantra that holds the essence of what life is. Every once in a while, a unique television show comes along and delivers a heart-warming and brilliant story that leaves the audience with an appreciation for nature and ourselves.

The creators of P.O.W. say, ‘We do not take pleasure in your pain’ which is another tagline of the show, ‘Bandi Yuddh Ke’. The show narrates the story of a suicidal teenager who is saved by the spirit of a man who left the world a long time ago and a woman who lost her child in a natural calamity.

Favorite Characters

Adding to the interesting characters of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is Dr. Jethalal wala and his wife, Teji ji. Dr. Jethalal’s house is always bustling with his doctors, nurses, family, friends and clients.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is undoubtedly the most successful show of the last decade or so on Indian television. Without a doubt, it is the best homegrown series that India has. It is produced by Dev Anand Production, owned by Sunil Gavaskar.
